SAGA (Spanish American Genealogical Association) was founded in 1987 as a non-profit organization. The purpose of the organization is to create and maintain the research, collection and development of genealogical data of the earliest Spanish and Mexican settlers of the present South Texas below the Nueces River. Our goal is to develop the resources of the genealogical data thus assisting members and the community with an opportunity to research their family history.
SAGA continues to seek new membership. This year, in particular, is a special year for our organization, as we will be hosting the annual state genealogy convention. The convention will occur during October in Corpus Christi. Our general meetings are held at the La Retama Library, beginning at 2pm, on the first Thursday of every month. The yearly membership will cover the period of January 1st to December 31st of the present year. Dues are $30.00 per member or $35.00 for a member and his/her spouse. Please contact Fidencio Lopez at the phone or email address below for additional information.
